This website is operated by The Smart Bag. Throughout the site, the terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to The Smart Bag. By visiting our site and/or purchasing something from us, you engage in our "Service" and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions, including those additional terms referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., who provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Privacy & Children's Policy

Please review our Privacy Policy. We do not target our products and technology at children of any age, but we recognise that children may come into possession of our products.

If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. You can request deletion of any data should you believe your child has submitted their information without consent by emailing us at help@thesmartbag.com.

We are not responsible for the processing of orders placed by anyone under the age of 16.

Disclaimer of Liability

The Smart Bag LLC and Lockus LLC are not responsible for a bag being stolen, nor are we responsible for belongings stolen from inside the bag. The Smart Bag provides products that offer a short-term anti-theft solution restricting the ease of certain thefts (for example, but not exclusively, pickpocketing).

The user is fully responsible for the welfare of their Smart Bag product and the contents of their bags. We are not responsible for damage caused by water, wind, fire, heat, freezing or any other accidental or natural cause.

Our locks have been stress-tested to the highest level. Please avoid exposing your bag to extreme temperatures such as direct sunlight or freezing conditions. The recommended temperature range is 0°C to 35°C. Exposure outside this range may damage internal components and void the warranty.

Warranty & Extended Warranty

• 1-Year Warranty: Covers the fingerprint lock, GPS hardware, battery, and wiring.
• Extended Warranty: Optional 3-year protection available for $100 within 30 days of purchase. Available here.
• Out-of-Warranty Repairs: Available for $125 + shipping after coverage ends.

Compliance with Legal Authorities

The Smart Bag LLC and Lockus LLC are not responsible for our customers' decisions about whether to comply with any law enforcement or government request or demand to unlock a bag. We shall have no liability for the customer's decision to comply or not comply with such requests — including requests by law enforcement, customs, airport security, or any other legal authority.

If we receive a valid and lawful subpoena or other legal process from law enforcement, we will comply as required by law, providing only information we are legally obligated to share. Where applicable and unless prohibited by law, we will attempt to notify the customer of such disclosure.

GPS Services

We have partnered with LandAirSea Systems to power GPS via The Smart Bag App. We use the LandAirSea '54' device in all bags purchased with GPS. For more information on LandAirSea Systems and their privacy policies:

GPS Data Charges

If you have purchased a Smart Bag with GPS, the first 12 months of GPS data are included from the date of purchase.

After 12 months, continued use of the integrated GPS feature is charged at $9.95 per month. This can be cancelled at any time by emailing help@thesmartbag.com.

Prior to charges continuing, you will need to approve via The Smart Bag App. We will notify you via the app and email so you can decide whether to continue receiving GPS data.

Slash-Resistant Lining

1. Coverage Scope

All Smart Bag products are designed with a built-in slash-resistant layer made from high-density woven nylon. This feature is included in every bag model as part of our anti-theft construction.

2. Functionality Disclaimer

While the slash-resistant layer is engineered to resist slashing, tearing, or forced intrusion, no anti-theft material can guarantee absolute protection. Our lining is intended to deter theft attempts and reduce the chance of successful intrusion — it does not make the bag impervious to damage under extreme force or high-powered tools.

3. Wear and Durability

The slash-resistant lining is designed to maintain integrity under normal use and will not degrade under typical wear conditions. The Smart Bag is not liable for misuse, unauthorised modifications, or intentional destruction of the lining beyond everyday functionality.

4. Warranty Considerations

Slash-Resistant Zipper

The Smart Bag Slash-Resistant Zipper is an advanced anti-theft component designed to increase resistance against slashing, cutting, and prying. While significantly more durable than standard zippers, it is not guaranteed to be 100% impervious to all forms of force or tampering.

By choosing this product, customers acknowledge that although this zipper offers increased protection, it does not eliminate all risk of unauthorised access. The Smart Bag is not liable for losses or damages that occur due to forceful intrusion or improper use.

RFID Blocking Card

The RFID Blocking Card offers limited preventative protection, not a guarantee against digital theft. Its effectiveness may vary depending on wallet construction, card placement, and environmental conditions.

The Smart Bag is not liable for any losses incurred through electronic pickpocketing or misuse of this product. For maximum protection, keep your RFID Blocking Card close to your contactless cards at all times. Improper use or excessive bending may impact performance.

Certain products or services may be available exclusively online and may have limited quantities subject to our Refund Policy. We cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any colour will be accurate. We reserve the right to limit the quantities of any products we offer.
